Terms worth knowing

  • You must be a UK resident aged 16 or over, and you can't have had a Monzo account or started applying for one before.
  • Sign up with the same mobile number you enter on the invite page.
  • The amount is chosen at random. Under Monzo's standard terms, 94% of people get £10.
  • Cash machine withdrawals, money transfers and virtual card payments don't count as your first payment. Paying with Monzo in Apple Pay or Google Pay does, so you don't need to wait for the card to arrive.
  • The current account is free. Monzo still checks your application, so it can be turned down.
